Catalogue Launch Party

We had a delayed catalogue launch party last weekend for the new Sale-a-bration and January – June Catalogues as there have been a few global and internal freight issues of late…so to minimise those we chose to have our party a little later than normal, which is fine as Sale-a-bration now runs through until March 16th 2022.

We had three card projects for people to do on the day using items from both new catalogues, as well as a yummy afternoon tea to enjoy as well as some displays to inspire.

Hello Ladybug bundle samples

Daffodil Daydream and Awesome Otter samples

The first item participants made was using the Awesome Otters and the Simply Marbelous designer series paper (both level 1 Sale-a-bration freebies). The otter and sentiment were stamped in Memento Black ink this was made easier by using the Stamparatus to ensure everyone got correct alignment of the two images. and the otter was coloured using the Smoky Slate, Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake Blends. The small school of fish from Whale Done were stamped in Misty Moonlight in full strength and stamped off versions. The seaweed was die cut in vellum from the Sea Dies. The card base and scalloped circle, cut with the layering circle dies, were also in Misty Moonlight card stock. The circle was layered up on foam Dimensionals.

The second project designed by Sue is a book fold card, featuring what has to be my current favourite sentiment “sending a card instead of a text”. The stamp sets are Very Versailles and Flowing Flowers. The shading was added using the blending brushes and the white crinkle seam binding was coloured to match the project with the Crumb Cake Blends. The background texture is from Tasteful Textures. Of course if you don’t like the sentiment we chose fro the samples – then you can always add a different one as they are your cards!

The last project was another by Sue and was made using the Amazing Silhouettes bundle, which is a lovely coordinating stamp set & die bundle – personally I love bundles as you can save 10%! It is a beautiful effect created by stamping the image into Versamark first, then adding Balmy Blue & Night of Navy ink to the top and bottom of the image, stamping it and adding clear embossing powder before heat setting it. The tree was coloured in with a water painters and the die cut word in Cinnamon Cider mounted onto vellum background shadow. The card base was again textured with the Tasteful Textures embossing folder (can you tell we love that subtle effect?)

Of course no event with Sue and I is complete without a yummy snacks and a little sugar treat of some description – this time I made up some matchbox fold treats featuring the Happy Hegehog bundle which were teamed with a sentiment from my new favourite sentiment set, Celebrating You. Random – but did you know a group of hedgehogs is collectively called a prickle – I love random stuff like that & before you ask a group of otters on land is either called a bevy or romp and in the water a raft!

As you can see our afternoon tea covered most dietary restrictions and featured a chocolate, cherry coconut slice (GF), fresh figs from my tree, chocolate cupcakes (DF), melting moments and rice crackers with dip (both DF, GF). If you’d like to know when our next event is just sign up to my newsletter to keep up to date or if you would like a copy of the new catalogues and don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, please let me know.
